Gilly Langton is a contemporary jeweler who lives and works in the remote Highland village of Plockton on the west coast of Scotland. Since 1997, her bold neckpieces, bracelets, cuffs, and earrings have been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world. Her Ombre collection, with its subtle shadings, combines hand-dyed shock elastic with sterling silver elements, embellished with dots and finished with a smooth satin finish. This juxtaposition of hard and soft materials and changing color palette evoke the heather-blanketed hills of the highlands and the way the region’s sea and lakes reflect a constantly shifting light. The result is a collection of pieces dramatic in their beauty, strength, and texture.
