Annemieke Broenink is a Dutch designer with an extensive background in Amsterdam’s fashion industry. In 2004 she embarked on her own collection of playful rubber necklaces and collars inspired by the traditional lace neckpieces worn by Dutch women in the 17th century. All of her wearable art is produced in her own studio. I’ve brought together a group of her petal and pod pieces to be worn long or wrapped, in wonderful colors ranging from subdued whites, grays, and neutrals to exuberant reds, blues, greens, pinks, and lavenders. There is nothing sedate about these necklaces. They are full-steam-ahead fun.
